Braids are incredibly popular for every season of the year, especially for the coming summer, as they are very comfortable, easy to make and fantastic for any type of summer outfit. This hairstyle combines a French fishtail with a more traditional braid, which makes it very versatile and easy to play depending on the style.
Take a small section of hair from your hairline and divide it in half. Cross the right section of hair over the left. Take a new piece of hair from the left and cross it to the right. Keep adding new sections of hair and alternately crossing them until you reach the back of the crown. Secure the braid with a bobby pin. Gather the remaining hair in a ponytail and tie it off with an elastic band. Pick up a small section of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the ribbon to hide the elastic. Secure it with bobby pins. Divide the ponytail into two equal sections to start the fishtail braid. Take a small strand from the left section and cross it over to the right section. Now take a small strand from the right section and cross it to the left. Continue this pattern until you reach the end of the ponytail. Tie it off with an elastic band. Gently pull and distribute each stitch to create fullness. Spritz on some firm hold hairspray to finish off the look.
For a smoother, refined finish, flatten the sides for a more polished look. For a more relaxed, messy look, work with outliers – instead of hiding them. Voila! Now you can go to a party, date, beach or wherever you want with this stylish braid.
